News Update: DISH Network Corp (NASDAQ:DISH); Forest Oil Corporation (NYSE:FST); DIRECTV (NASDAQ:DTV)

Dallas, Texas, 10/02/2014 (ustrademedia) – On 1st October, it was reported by Reuters that that top U.S. wireless carrier in addition to DISH Network Corp (NASDAQ:DISH) have shown their interest in the spectrum and airwaves auction which is slated to take place in November this year by Federal Communications Commission. The report was based on the initial applications which have been filed by the telecommunication firms with the regulators as of yesterday.  Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ), AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) and T-Mobile Us Inc (NYSE:TMUS) and DISH Network Corp (NASDAQ:DISH) are some of the notable firms which have pencilled their name to participate in the November bidding process. Northstar Wireless LLC and SNR Wireless License Co LLC have tied up with Dish Network Corp to put in joint bids in this proposed auction.

Denver headquartered oil and gas mining firm, Forest Oil Corporation(NYSE:FST) announced on 1st October that its management and independent auditor, Ernst & Young LLP (EY) has successfully completed the incremental procedures. In August, Forest Oil Corporation (NYSE:FST) had submitted a letter to SEC that it is amending the 1Q14 and 2Q14 Quarterly Reports. The amended reports were filed by the oil firm yesterday to the Securities and Exchange Commission.

In a joint communication which was released on 1st October, DIRECTV (NASDAQ:DTV) and The National Football League have indicated that they have entered into a new multi-year contract. The new agreement would allow DIRECTV (NASDAQ:DTV) would own the exclusive rights to relay the popular NFL SUNDAY TICKET games and corresponding Sunday afternoon sports package. The new agreement also allows for the content to be carried by the streaming TV player via mobiles and other digital devices. The financial terms of the agreement were not paid public by either of the parties yesterday. The agreement also extends digital TV entertainment provider’s rights to air RED ZONE CHANNEL and DIRECTV FANTASY ZONE.
