Dallas, Texas, 10/02/2014 (ustrademedia) – BlackBerry Limited (NASDAQ:BBRY) has appointed Michael Daniels to the company’s board of directors. Daniels, who is a former chairman and chief executive officer of Mobile 365, will bring the number of directors at BlackBerry to seven. Out of seven members, six are independent members. BlackBerry chief John Chen hopes Daniels will bring his technology experience and specifically his cyber security expertise to the company. Daniels worked with Science Applications International Corporation from 1986-2004. In 2005, he was appointed chairman and CEO of Mobile 365 until Sybase bought the company in 2006. Daniels joined Sybase as a director from 2007-2010. He also worked as Chairman of GlobalLogic; and director of Telcordia Technologies, VeriSign, and Apogen Technologies.
Sprint Corporation (NYSE:S) announced a new promotion under which it is doubling the data for its new and existing customers for same or lower monthly price as compared to plans offered by AT&T Inc (NYSE:T) and Verizon Communications Inc (NYSE:VZ). The Sprint customers will get double the sharable data on the 32GB, 40GB and 60GB Family Share Pack plans to 60GB, 80GB, and 120GB of data respectively for free. While business customers using 40GB, 60GB, 80GB, and 100GB will be entitled to get 80GB, 120GB, 160GB, and 200GB of data respectively for free until October end.
Intuit Inc. (NASDAQ:INTU) has announced Quicken for Windows 2015 that provides a free credit score, in-depth analysis of investment portfolio management and enhancements, enabling people make smarter financial decisions. The new version of the money management software now features Credit Score, Portfolio X-Ray and 20 customer-requested enhancements — including faster mobile sync, mobile spending graphs, enhanced registration, bond support and automatic option prices download. The software connects to 14,500 savings, checking, loan, credit card, and investment and retirement accounts, enabling users to track all of their accounts in one place.
